We apologize, dear one. Are your ears still intact? [Eon asks the sound man] Yes?
Well, dear ones, let's cut to the chase, as animals will often do and chat about your beloved ones. We want to know your karma with them. We want to know your difficulties with them and we want to help you release karma with them because happy animals and happy people get along their paths with fewer bombs much more quickly.
That is really the purpose. Let's get this life over with! On to the next level. So, if you should learn your lessons tomorrow that’s something really to be grateful for. The animals are here to help you. Let's help the animals help us.
Ah, who has a pet they're having big problems with?
It's not a big problem but it's a decision we're faced with. We have a dog, Sparky. He came to me on the streets of Springfield and then we got a visitor dog named Zimbra, and she's— she and I go back. And we're taking care of her for a year while her owner travels, and we're attached to her now, and she's part of our family. And I don't know, I need some help to let go when she returns to her owner, who she's family with also.
Yes. Well this has everything to do with Sparky, which you are well aware of, which is why you mentioned the Spark first.
Sparky came into your life to meet this other dog. Came into your life to have a nesting place in which it could interact for a short time with this other creature, which has really helped it in the way we mean help. Made problems for it, loved it, made things easier and harder, pushed it along.
Without the wind, your boat goes nowhere, and the other dog is the wind for Sparky's sails. So, that is largely why Sparky came to you. Because you were destined to hold the energy for this other dog to come into for a short time of nourishment.
This is a complex situation. Needed a break from its owners. It is not merely boarding with you, but it is also healing with you. Not because there is any abuse happening in that family. No. But instead, because when energies are slightly off sparks fly. And the energies are not quite exactly matched. It's not like one plug fits into another and the current flows easily.
It's more of a mish-mash with some sortings out. No fault of any souls at all. But the other dog, in its own environment, has this sparking happening. Whenever there is sparks, there is a likelihood that there will be a burning out. And this dog needed a vacation. And arranged for a period of respite with you in which it could relax, lay dormant really for a while, and enjoy its true dog nature.
It has not been able to enjoy its true dog nature with all this chaotic energy mismatched in its other situation. It has not yet known what it is to be a dog. And Sparky knows exactly what it is to be a dog. This is a dog with no doubt. And it really needs to interact with this one to experience being helpful to it. So, they help each other the way all beings help each other.
It's always equivalent. One side of the balance is always completely counterbalanced. So, there is nothing that is even spoken between two people that's not equivalent. You speak, we speak there will be balance.
This is the same thing with all animal interactions between each other. There is nipping. There is territorial argument. There is balance. And animals find their balance much more quickly than humans do.
Sparky, however, is going to go into a period of what do you say, mania and then depression when this dog leaves. It will be ecstatic to have its own space and it will simultaneously and periodically feel quite concerned and anxious. This is something that you can help with by leaving something that the other animal has left its smell on in your home. So, that there can be a feeling of a presence for the Sparky, when the other animal has to go.
For yourselves though, that won’t help you. Simply having some dog hair here and there is little consolation. What’s really helpful for you, dear ones, is this experience of gratitude we mentioned.
You’ve already assumed, dear one, that the car accident scenario which we presented had some relevance. Giving this dog over to its rightful owners is going to be a similar but less graphic moment of difficulty. Reality comes very strongly whether one departs from life or merely departs from someone else’s life in the physical earthly sense. Whether you actually die or just leave there is the same feeling.
You go farther back with this second dog than with Sparky. You have never known Sparky before this life. But this other dog you have known seven times in different ways. Sometimes, you have known this dog because it ate you when you were a small child and it was a tiger. And sometimes, you have known this when it was a garter snake with which you played for a short time, and captured and took home in a very flimsy cardboard box with the corners wet from the dew of the grass. And it broke out of those wet damp corners and went into your room and vanished, and caused you pain then.
Sometimes you’ve known it as a bird that followed you with which you had very close contact telepathically. Very easy for you to communicate with this, called golden eagle. That is the kind of bird it was then. And there have been other times when it has been dog. Sometimes it has been one of those short stubby dogs, the bull dog. But now it is not a bull dog is it?
No, it’s a black lab and shepherd.
Yes. It is not a vicious dog.
No, but she can get feisty when she’s tired and will get a little cranky.
How old is this dog, dear one?
She’s almost nine.
Oh, a very good age for a dog. Retirement age. It’s done it’s hard work. Well, you will be giving this dog over to its rightful owners. We want to state that quite clearly, dear one. That while you have been very important for this animal, it must not stay with you. Not must— not meaning, it can’t— but must not, meaning it is what must be that it leaves.
For you it would be wise if, shortly after you returned the dog, you were able to take a short trip, even if it was for a few days, if it was a good time of the year for you to do that. A short trip away. The kind of trip you would not take with that dog anyway. So, perhaps you might go someplace where you wouldn’t necessarily take the dog. Go there. And experience this as a transitional time because the reality of being without the dog is a very big one. And it’s important to bite it off in small pieces.
This dog is like a child for you, but also it is like a sister. It is an alive relationship, a multidimensional one, unlike the relationship with the Sparky which is fairly simple, really, to understand.
The eyes of this dog speak volumes. But you should also understand, dear ones, that your eyes speak volumes, and your dog reads them well. This dog looks into your eyes and understands you. Does not remember you. You remember the dog more than the dog remembers you. But the dog understands this you that is now, and knows that there is purpose for its being with you, and is grateful to you. Does this dog have chew toys?
Not presently. No.
Chew toy would be helpful. Are you concerned about swallowing chew toys?
For Sparky, he eats plastic.
Yes.
His teeth are running down.
Even when dogs have failing teeth they still need something to chew on. Something soft would be fine. Not something like that rawhide no, that’s not good at this point for this dog.
Fleece might work.
Yes, something soft, that if it should perchance to swallow a few threads, would not be bad for it. But something soft and chewy and delightful. Can you play tug with this dog?
Mm-hm.
Does it enjoy this?
Oh yes, him and Sparky they do it together.
[Eon laughs] Two at once.
And there’s a boy, an eleven year old boy.
The boy has been actually in contact with the Sparky before. The Sparky had been a pet of the boy. Do you know that there is a sort of cartoonish-looking boy with a dog following used as a cartoon advertisement?
Calvin and Hobbes?
No. No. It’s an old, old thing, from your 1920s perhaps.
Sunbathing thing? Buster?
Buster. This boy was model for that Buster and dog was model, was pet of boy. Mm.
Buster Brown?
Buster Brown, Buster Brown.
He lives in a shoe with his dog too.
[Eon laughs] The boy was the inspiration for the Buster Brown and the dog of the boy was the inspiration for that boy’s dog. And Sparky is that dog.
I have to tell you we almost gave Sparky up because when we got him he was a wild puppy and he went to our boy and pulled his pants down. He kept on pulling his pants down just like that! Now Sparky’s nickname is Mister Brown. It’s true.
Oh good, good. Will this be hard for you as well?
Giving up the dog?
Yes.
Oh yes. Very much so.
Why do you love this dog so much?
She’s incredibly sweet.
Yes.
She’s incredibly loving.
She talks. She barks. She talks and we interpret. We translate her barks into human words.
You do a good job. They are like telegraphic barks.
Uh-huh. Uh-huh.
Yes.
Very obviously.
Does this dog like oatmeal?
We’ve never given it. We'll try it.
Perhaps a little oatmeal might be healthy for the dog. You know this dog is not an elderly dog but it’s getting near that time when it needs to start thinking of its elderly status. Little oat meal might be helpful inside yes. It can help a little bit. Amy, do you think that oatmeal would be helpful for the dog?
Yes.
How much?
A quarter to half a cup.
On a daily basis?
Every other day.
Every other day. Very well. Rice?
No.
No rice. Only oats. Yes, yeast, Brewer’s yeast?
Once a week.
Very good, very good. Good. So something to chew on. This will be the same thing that Sparky will remember. Perhaps if it is like a blanky sort of thing. But for yourselves, dear ones. How about if you give the dog a gift when it goes, a new collar perhaps? Something of you to go with the dog. Rather than something from the dog to stay with you because you must give the dog up. There’s really no choice in the matter at this moment. Are you quite certain that the dog’s friends will be coming home?
We hope so.
Yes.
Depends on fate. They’re travelling around the world on their honeymoon. We don’t know what will happen.
No one knows. But you should expect at this moment that that will be the case. We are very glad you are here tonight.
Thank you.
Very good to your friends the animals you are.
The feeling’s mutual.
