This world’s physical nature is only a bare manifestation of how frustrated your minds are. If you find it difficult, sometimes, to get out of bed, face the day, hack your way through other people’s ignorance, deal with all the frustrations in pouncing upon your prey and consuming it, whatever that prey may be— well, your soul has a much more difficult time hacking its way through the jungle of this life because the physical is a bare shadow of the frustrations of the spiritual.
The physical stuff of life, including who you think you are— your job, your relationships, your sense of your personality, your identity, your family, your wealth, your position in society— all these things are making up fragments of the ego. The ego is merely: “Who I think I am.” Who do you think you are?
The soul, the soul is hacking its way through the jungle of that ego using this stuff of life, especially, especially using disappointments, frustrations, times when you come smack up against the wall over and over again, feeling that you just cannot get to what you really want.
You see, this worldly self of yours knows what you want. Your spiritual self knows what you need. And sometimes it knows you need to be battering yourself against that wall again and again, until you finally break through. But, dear children, you may not break through that wall, you may break through your own ego. The frustration, the obstacle, the challenge and the disappointment may be a gift to you to surrender.
